Thanks for the lookup and info! Yo get a peppermint puff for that! Will double check the tacho at 55 and let you know. So all in all, do ya think its a good truck?

Of course I think it's a good truck, but I don't know that it's setup for what you really want. I wouldn't be afraid to drive the wheels off it LOL

If you can drive manual, a 5speed swap would be great for towing, simply because of the overdrive and the C6 automatic robs some power.

I don't think you personally really feel like messing with that though, so I'd ask around about if upgrading the torque converter would help. It would be pricey, but might be a good investment.

When @Dieselcrawler looks at it, make sure there's a secondary transmission cooler! The C6 is tough, but likes to make heat while towing.

I know NOTHING about how it all works on that transmission, but I'm wondering if the kickdown and everything is working properly.

If you can track down a used turbo it will help tremendously, so don't forget to keep an eye out for one. Should be easy will all that dental office money LOL (yes, I'm being sarcastic!)

I did check the tacho when I went for groceries...at 55 it read 2.7.....at 65 it read 3....no horse trailer attached and on a straight stretch. Then when I came out of the grocery store two guys that run a hot rod shop asked me if I wanted to sell it! I said not right now and they complimented me on my choice of truck. May talk to them later.....but really cannot wait til Dieselcrawler can take a peek at it when he gets up to his camp! Unreal that he is so close to me...small world. Considering the used turbo option and will inquire about the torque converter.
Dental biz has always been good to me...I'm not the dentist but like a physicians assistant in the dental field.
Hoping to retire in 3 years and be a rodeo clown...lol!
Thanks again...you are a good guy!

I've towed the passes around Yosemite with the 88 c-6 4:10 in my sigline, no issue's but these 2
1 egt on the banks eng. Getting coolant HOT.
2 HEATING the brakes on the downhill grades.
The 5er is at 6k+
Thus I sold it for a 5 gear truck!

and be a rodeo clown...lol!
Well that sounds like my two experience with trying to ride a bull when I was younger. Both the real thing and a mechanical. Peer pressure for the real one and female pressure for the mechanical one. I may not be much smarter these days, but at least I'm old enough to so HELL NO! if the pressure happens again.LOL

Apparently my C6 doesn't have extra springs.

Everything looks exactly the same as the E4od, except it doesn't have the FIPL...

I don't see a kick down rod in your picture either. It may there and is just hidden in this picture though.

Nope. So I was driving that around all that time, with no kickdown rod.

I wonder what else is missing from that truck...
