85 F250 6.9L, new starter, tests 100%, new batts. test 100%, no crank with key. Only showing 7-10v @ S terminal on relay. If I hook jumper wire direct from 12v Batt. post to S terminal, nice big clunk, 13v at starter side of relay and starter cranks as it should. What might I start with figuring this out? Also, I was hearing a click coming from the group of four relays (look like 30a ones you would do a headlight mod with, I have no idea what they are for) on the pass. side fender. Thought that click might be my trouble, replaced the clicking one with a known good one, same trouble. Now, with a multi meter, I show 12.4v at the wire that connects to the S terminal but when I hook it up, no crank. I even put my push button glow plug wire on the starter relay and it cranks over fine! Gah! I'm already bald, I'd hate to start tearing my epic beard out over this, anybody have any idea what might be the problem? Also, go easy on me, I have been dragged kicking and screaming into the intertubz.....I hope I posted in the right place.
