Can anyone tell me, if the brackets that the "eye" end of the sway bar links (the top end) bolt to, and are attached to the frame, are they identical or mirrored parts of themselves from driver side to passenger side? that bracket is missing on my 84 f250 passenger side, and i am thinking of making one, it seems difficult to find the part for purchase. is it safe to copy the driver's side one?

I was in a junk yard a few months ago and swiped the hardware from one cause I got a bar with my axle a year ago-- the way it bolted to the frame was just straight through a hole in the frame with no bracket. If you're talking about the link that goes from the bar to the frame that's different and should be copied for length but that's about it. Not a big liability as not all pickups even had them, like mine did not.

Perfect! Knowing that they did not all have them, ill move that to the back burner till I get a few other things fixed up. Kind of relieving.

From what I've seen in the wrecking yards around here, '97 and older used a bracket both front and rear to mount the top end of the link toward the inside of the frame. Usually the brackets are riveted to the frame making removal difficult. Starting in '99 and every one newer I've seen the upper part of the link is bolted directly through the frame on the outside. If you want to swap between the styles I believe you'll have to find a link with an offset that will match up to your sway bar or build a bracket as you mentioned. The brackets I've collected have a tab on the triangle portion that hangs below the frame for the link to attach to. I believe that technically makes them mirrored but there isn't much difference otherwise. I'll try to get a pick of left/right ones up tomorrow.

The 2wd truck I had has the sway bar end links bolt into the frame, my 4x4 uses the brackets that bolt to the bottom of the frame and are identical.

Here are the brackets I’ve harvested from the fronts of a couple f-350 4x4s. Lefts and rights are identical. I’m not sure what the tab on them is for but it’s on the part that is up against the inside of the frame so the tabs have nothing to do with how the links are attached despite how I described them above.

Oh wild I didn't even thing to look if it was 4x4 or 2wd... is the bracket just to keep the bar horizontal due to the higher OE lift? Looks like 2"?

Those pics are truly helpful! I will try to remember to take some R vs L photos of what I'm seeing on my front sway bar attachments tomorrow and post. I am now reasonably certain I can fabricate the MIA bracket. Working on just getting her on the road for across town now, hopefully she's my near future tow rig. Time and effort will solve
