I swear by both Costco interstate batteries,(will crank till dead and then some) and the NO-CO spay.(never had any problems since using it) Costco has the best Warranty on the market hands down for their batteries. I fried a pair when my voltage regulator broke on me on the way to school, took them in that evening no questions, here's you new batteries. And for 99 buck a pop, heck of a deal especially for interstate batteries.

Spot on with Costco batteries. In my humble experience top is the line or best-warranty batteries from discount retailers such as Costco and Walmart are equal to or better than auto store batteries. I'm told that most batteries are made and/or distributed by Interstate Batteries then rebranded. The pro-rated warranties are useless. Full-replacement warranties via a major discount retailer will get you better service. Buy more CCA than you think you need. On these trucks, new cable, cable ends and connectors pay for themselves. Low resistance really helps with performance and battery life. Especially true of the cross connect cable running along the front/hood. Use a quality electrical grease. I make my own cables out of high gauge, quality welding wire and buy connectors from the HW store. If you're spending $200 on batteries, spend $50 on cables, connectors and terminals. Replace batteries based on date rather than wait for a drop in performance. I replace when the full-replacement warranty runs out. This will extend the life of your starter.

Looking for advice on best batteries for cold weather starting. My batteries are on their way out therefore new ones are in the not so distant future. Current batteries are Auto Craft Gold group 65-2 cca @ 0 degrees 850, cca @ 32 degrees 1000, reserve cap 150. One battery is date coded 2-11 and the other 5-11 so at 9 years old no complaints. Planning a hunting trip to northern Maine this fall so extreme cold is definitely on the menu as possible. Any advice will be appreciated!

Get yourself some Imterstate batteries...I cannot say enough good...Have had excellent experiences with them over thye past 40 years both in commercial class 8 trucks and personal vehicles... Last one was in a '97 Benz bought new....installed in 2001, (25000 miles) started getting a little weak last year (163000 miles)...contacted Interstate to tell them about how good their products were...they gave me a new battery for free!!

i cant say what cold weather results i will have but i put 2 napa 9835m marine AGM batteries in mine. 750 cca at zero degrees. i do short trips across town, so have the 3g alternator upgrade. Experience is what you get right after you really needed it so i guess i will know more the next time it is 20 or 25 below. I dont even know if it was a good idea but was ready to do something different than what i had done previously.

Man if your AutoCraft Golds are 9 years old, i might do that again. seems to have worked for you previously. Heard someone say once, if it ain't broke, dont mess with it. In fact if my agm marines dont work out, i might do the autocraft, knowing their track record with you.

Exactly. I'd wouldn't be looking for anything different with your results.

If your version of "cold weather" test is 20-25 below zero then I've never even come close to cold weather! :rotflmao

Agreed that 9 years in the front of a pickup is a long long time for a battery. I'm interested to see how you end up liking the marine AGM's.

I'm still window shopping, however after looking at numerous battery specs the only group 65 numbers I found that are superior are those $300 AGM batteries.

Well that would certainly sting while buying them. If they would last another 9 years, it may be worth it in the long run. Of course with batteries, there's no guarantees no matter what the purchase price is.

im not quite in the coldest place of the lower 48. Still, it gets really cold! i have a picture of our bank reporting minus 28f one morning, had to send to my family back in PA.

I will try to remember to follow up with how i like them.

there could be monetary value i think in the peace of mind knowing your rig will fire and the reliability is there. nothing is worse than screwing with a couple batteries that let ya down on the coldest morning of the year.

Bought the same thing. Hopefully they provide the same service life as the first one's.

NAPA batteries are East Penn (Dekka) batteries, made in USA still. Those group 31’s or AGM’s are beasts

I hope so, update us if you find out otherwise. I have had very mixed results with batteries from Advance.

Oreily batteries weren't worth a crap. My brother has an account with them. Got a good deal on them. Went back with interstate
