The filtering catch can unit? I saw a very similar setup from another manufacturer. Someone here recommended it but I don't remember who. That's what I plan on using eventually.

I'll have to dig into this more. The only one I was seeing much online about was the Donaldson setup. And even with them I wasn't finding much in the way of part numbers, prices, or availability.

I've still got my fingers crossed and have been praying that's all that was wrong. I do have to say bearings for these engines are not cheap by any means. I can buy a couple sets of gas motor bearings for what these cost. Truth is I should have listened to Russ from the beginning and just got his undersized rod bearings right away cause now I have an opened set of STD rod bearings just laying around, lol! Oh well, as long as it fixes it and makes it right it is a small price to pay. Ultimately I just want a reliable engine with good power that runs strong for many years.

Have you tried an automotive catalyzed clear?

I sure hope you are good to go man. Hopefully we will get to stretch their legs in July.

I have not tried that. Do you think it would hold up ok to the diesel fuel and oil? I love the way a raw aluminum intake looks on an engine, but once they start getting dirty they are hard to clean. We always used the spray engine enamel cans before, but they tend to discolor from the diesel and whatnot. I looked into Jethot coatings, but at $300 it's a bit pricey for me just to make an intake look good. Plus if I find something that works well for a lot less money I can use that money for other upgrades [emoji16]

I'm looking forward to stretching her legs in July! If all goes well I'd like to have the intercooler and Snow setup on my then too to test them out. I just have to find a spot to mount this water-to-air intercooler, lol!

We used Donaldson Spiracle crankcase vent filters on the garbage fleet. Worked well on L10 and M11 Cummins. Caused no problems. I have a Mann on my 7.3 PSD. Compact and more reasonably priced. Racor/ Parker offer them as well. They made a kit for the 7.3 PSD Superduty. The 3550 I believe, there are some filter units on EBay I believe.

Well, it will be a lot better than rattle can. Catalyst always helps. As far as grease and oil, it hold up okay on the fenders right?

They do make a clear powder coat as well I think.

Yes, clear powder coat is available. I had several cast aluminum diff covers coated with it. Make sure they preheat (gas off) the parts prior to applying powder. Oil & grease clean up is easy and it also eliminates oxidation.

Hey Alex...

:D;Poke
I should have known that was gonna happen, lol! I've been plugging away on it, just haven't had a chance to update any at the moment between work being hectic, farm work, and fitting in work on the truck where I can. I'll have a lot to update with soon though!

All in good fun, I'm anxious to see it back in tip top shape, but I'd imagine you are too!
