I found this neat quote on page 29:
NOTE: However, if lube oil filter is not
changed every 6000 miles (9656 km), 200
hours or 2 months (whichever comes first), fil-
ter contamination will cause a pressure drop
due to high restriction. When such contami-
nation occurs, the bypass valve will open and
lube oil will "bypass" the filter to be distributed
to the engine.
So... Yeah... In industrial applications at least, they evidently found that the filter crudded up pretty quickly...

I buy oil 5 gallons at a time for $50. I use Traveller 15w40 from Tractor Supply

I bought the box of 4x 1 gallon since it was actually cheaper per gallon vs a 5 gallon bucket, and I didn't have to mess with a bucket and buying a pump for the bucket. That's what my F250 has in it right now. I drive it 3-4 times a month is all, just around town on short trips.

I put Valvoline Premium Blue in the RV, but then the pandemic exploded so I might end up never really using that oil. Since it's gonna be sitting in the motor for 7-8 months (I changed it in Feb) including the hot 100+ degree humid summer, so it's gonna probably degrade some and need to be replaced before I hit the road again, hopefully this September or October. I might leave the filter and it's contents since it won't be dirty and it might not have moisture in it, unlike oil in the crankcase that has more air exposure. That'll save about a quart of oil and not waste the new FL1995.

According to a test by Project Farm, don't worry about the sitting time. After 2 years and a small number of miles, oil tests showed that it was still plenty good to run.

I've seen that one, I like his wear testing machine. I wish he'd do some more wear testing with both the used oil (to kind of see how the wear additives hold up) and other oils with different additive packages.
