You do make a good point, and I agree that it's really up to how stringent the quality control is no matter the source of the product, and who will honor said warranty if something does happen.
A 128GB Samsung microsd card half failed within its warranty period (went read only) and they honored it. They paid shipping to have me send in the bad one and they paid shipping to send me a new one. Sure they are only about $30 now but still. At least they do honor their warranty.
