Windshield arm upgrade

went from the pin style to the j-hook style , got tired of only getting cheap basic replacements and wanted better options

used a set from a junk yard off a 97, took about 5 minutes

Started coat #1 of my undercoating...

1 part diesel, 1 part used diff fluid (or engine oil). Load it into your $9.99 hazard fraught HVLP sprayer and get at it

It's a little stinky but seems to be kicking all the water out of the frame effectively. Sticks to undercarriage effectively. Would highly recommend. Can't beat $9.99 for basic rustproofing. I'll throw up some pics in the morning. Definitely a time to bust out your N95 though, that **** SUCKS to breathe
Edit:

here’s some pics. Been 2 days, still nice and wet. Better than nothin eh ?

Not too shabby! I was too lazy to bondo the spots I ground down, so now it looks like an old pale guy with acne scars down his cheeks.
The real test will be to see how well the color matches in the sunlight. Maybe a custom two-tone with brown is in order someday down the road...

If you kept it just within the body line there it will look like only a shadow if it doesn’t match, so you have that going for you at least.

Well I got the trans cooler installed today. Only had two of those little foam squares in it so I had to improvise with the silicone foam I have.

I installed the zip tie pieces through the mounting holes in the flanges, and not through the fins like these are designed for. So I put a little more foam on the clip pieces to cover up the triangle nubs on them.

She's in! I plumbed it from the front transmission outlet, through the radiator, through the aux cooler, then back to the rear inlet on the transmission.

After that was done, I put the grille back on and "pickled" the cooling system. 3gal white vinegar and the rest water.

Then I ran it around the parking lot next door! (because it still doesn't have tags yet)

I'm going to let it cool down now, then I'll top off the water and heat it up again before letting it sit overnight. Tomorrow I'll flush it really good multiple times before filling it with 50/50 ELC and distilled water.

I don't know if I posted this in here but as you know February 26th I made a haul ass trip to Wisconsin to be with our daughter before she passed. Before that I was under my truck fixing my pinion seal leak and putting in the crush sleeve eliminator kit, in the middle of that found a crack in the frame and my coworker welded that up for me. and then I checked fluids and hit the road and as you can see by the pictures this speed was maintained almost completely across Montana and North Dakota, I had no issues truck ran really good. But that's what they do when you take care of them even a little bit.
