"Thermocouples work on the Seebeck effect of temperature differentials across junctions of dissimilar metals. It should be accurate as long as it is intact."

I saw this and thought. Beastmaster seems to know what he's talking about. Add that to some previous discussions about electronics where I know for sure he knows what he's talking about. Now I'm looking for the answer he gives and only questions... I see a profound lesson here, but still looking for the answer to the question.

Geez, did I ever get sidetracked... I am in process of adding instrumentation as well, trying to avoid engine damage from preventable causes. And have been looking at thermocouples.

Now, I sheepishly need to answer the question asked instead of trying answer all those questions I have been asking myself...

I definitely want precision EGT on both left and right manifolds, so I can l monitor for balance, as well as sensor failure. I want a precision engine oil temp, as a proxy for engine temp, in case cooling system is impaired.

I also want a fuel pressure gauge, knowing how much fuel delivery issues make so much confusion.

I would like to tap into the TFT transmission fluid temperature sensor on the E4OD just to profile it for sensing if it goes out of historical bounds.

A problem I am running into is how to display all this stuff.

thanks all!

Went with a set of Auto Meter Cobalt digital EGT, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp gauges. I'll run these for now since the plan is to do a ZF-5 swap at some point.
