Though I don’t agree with public transport.
I think it's good in some circumstances. What these day dreaming hippies don't take into account is the fact that a lot of people don't want to live in a larger city. This means that they do have to drive places for things that they need. Sometimes they have to commute many miles just to get to work (current situation not accounted for in this writing). Not only that, there's a HUGE portion of internal combustion powered engines that are absolutely essential for their very survival (you don't think that they actually built their own protective bubble do you?). This is from various types of farm equipment to the trucks and trains that ship products all over the country. No to mention the forklifts and similar pieces of equipment that unload these products when they arrive at the stores the these day dreamers like to walk and bicycle to.

get a good turbo and a smoke puff limiter, that'll clean you right up. Soot comes from incomplete combustion, a turbo will clean it up a lot, dial back on the fuel OR get the smoke puff limiter installed on your fuel pump, and free up the intake and exhaust as much as you can will minimize soot and give you more power to boot.

I wouldn't look to additives to do the work (NOS/propane?/Urea), seems counter productive to me. At least with the two above suggestions, it's buy once cry once instead of buying constantly

Oh no! i don't want them invading the nice, quiet rural area where I live. I

^^That exactly. I'm sure some folks will leave the city but I hope not too many as that would likely be a disaster for some rural areas. Low population density seems to often be a key component in regards to quality of life. More people trying to occupy the same space means more rules governing that space.

Where I live used to be more rural but over time many people with lots of money moved here and so many brought their sanitized urban/suburban tastes and thoughts with them. Some people freak out if they catch a coyote or fox going through their property. Or the morons who want to play farmer but refuse to acknowledge that their poorly protected livestock are basically a pantry item for the mountain lions. A bunch of suits, techies, and wealthy academics make for some odd country folk. I sure hope city folk stay in the city. Rant over.

In all fairness coal accounts for less than 25% of US energy production( https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3 ), but I get what you're saying. I would like to read the breakdown of how our trucks are cleaner than a Tesla--just curious.
Oh we're still producing coal.... just going overseas now. Worked in a county where there were two jobs available to young people. Mine coal, or work at the coal fired power plant. Neither exist now 8 years later. The place has no work and a huge ****/****** problem now.

But people "elsewhere" feel better thinking something like this crap (and electric cars) will save the planet.... while entire communities are ruined and our natural resources are being used to fuel the economy of China.

Here's a couple FANTASTIC videos (if you're a numbers nerd like myself!) on a pretty detailed look at ICE vs electric.

And yes, I love living out in the woods with no one around. Let's keep the city people in the city, and let them work on efficiency of public transportation. I think it's needed in the population centers. Just don't force me to use a bus. I can't even get USPS to come up my 1.5mi driveway for a personal delivery let alone a bus.

It works great in some areas, but let's keep the freedom to choose. I like the idea of making my own fuel and keeping my old iron going. We need all parts of the chain working together, I'm more than happy to bring up the rear when it comes to innovation. ;)

I dream of having a mile and a half long driveway.
