Lug nuts only go on backwards

Believe it or not, Sometimes when you replace the hub assembly and you have all new studs, the old lug nuts are damaged from the years of impact use on them, I always replace the nuts with new ones. The old nuts threads are slightly "pulled" and won't thread on properly the right way and they will thread on backwards is a classic sign that this is the case. Good Luck.

I have seen the oem nuts get this way, usually the end of the cone is just deformed from years of use. Quick clean up on a grinder and they are good to go.

Just to avoid any confusion started in this thread, a left hand threaded nut will not start on a right hand stud backwards. And a right hand threaded nut will not start on a left hand threaded stud backwards.

A right hand threaded nut will not start on a left hand stud forward, backwards, no way is it going to go.

Same with a left hand nut, it's not going to start on a regular right handed stud, in any position.
