My seat needs repair, but I know that there are many years that interchange with 1985. How late can I look before bolt patterns change? 1994? 1998?

I am going to bet, just from looking at all the threads about body and interior stuff that there may be some slight change between the Bull and Brick interiors regarding seats, but mine has some explorer seats with custom brackets. If you can do the work, world is your oyster!

Done that stuff before. I had a friend who put a much later bench seat into his 85 some years ago (before Y2K), so I doubt anything after 2000 will work. Looking for less work, not more.

In the 92-97 trucks the front/rear bench seats are the same but I'm pretty sure the front/rear brackets are different. Pretty sure this true for the 87'-'91' also. The floor pans in these two series are the same so it's all interchangeable. I was thinking somewhere it was mentioned that the floor pan changed around the ZF/E4od and that might affect the brackets between the bull nose and later but don't take that as gospel. Reg cab front brackets should be the same as front crew brackets but ext cabs have they're own set of brackets if I remember correctly.

Not sure what the owner did, if anything, for brackets but here is a brick nose seat in a bull nose truck. Straight from that CL ad Scotty posted in the other thread a little bit ago.

benches front and rear up to 97 will fit right in. buckets from a reg cab that have the frame under it will bolt right in. Buckets without the frame will need holes drilled. 1999+ will work but will have to drill holes and use some spacers on a few holes.
F-150 seats 97+ will also work with some modification
