Its a closed loop system with "water condenser".

I have a barrel heater band outside. I mounted it near the top of the oil so that clean oil stays up top while it evaporates. The pickup goes down to the bottom of the barrel.

i try to heat it up at 90c. my breaker likes to trip after that. The condenser works passive. just a bucket that has a tube going through it close to the top. heat goes to cold. it takes the relative humidity inside the heated tank and hopefully falls rains to the bucket.

Me too. Anyone know of any available tutorials?

Most of it is the PA Biodiesel kit from the looks. If you buy the whole kit it's the fuge, motor and pump pictured.

Blue line at bottom is pickup, black line that loops from the pump to the fittings is high pressure. From there it heads to the pressure gauge and fuge, if you follow the T fitting there is a ballvalve to set the desired pressure by bleeding off excess. The brass thing next to it is an over-pressure blow off valve for a safety.

The way he's describing it the insulated tube just goes into the bucket.

Barrel heater gets everything hot, steam rises into bucket, condenses into water and stays in bucket, not in the oil.

Really neat setup, I dig it! I'm guessing you're going to want more insulation around that barrel though. Let us know how that "passive" condenser system works! Kudos!

You should fully insulate the barrel (just wrap it very well with fiberglass insulation) and then put the band heater at the bottom. The hot oil will rise and the whole thing will heat much more evenly that way. It'll take longer to evaporate the water at first, but you'll get a MUCH more complete evaporation and a much better finished product.

Where did you get the water condenser? My setup could benefit from one of those.
