Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
When you fill, do you stick the nozzle way into the fill neck so it's past your welded vent? I would think that would be the only way it would work and that would work well.
When I put the station nozzle in, the tip of the nozzle goes past this vent in the fill neck. So all the fuel comes out of the nozzle, and all the air escapes above the nozzle tip, not disturbing the fueling.

That is what it's all about. Getting all the fuel in and getting all the air out without them mixing and bumping against each other, causing gulping and splashing and cutting the nozzle off

Just went out & cked my '90 with a flashlite. The NPT 1/8" 90* is Mig'ed about 2" down from the fill tube top so the fill nozzle does in fact go down past the vent opening. The 1/8" 90* then has about a 2"x1/8" nipple that I attached the 1/4" (may be 3/8" hose) clear braided hose onto. Whatever size it is I put it onto the 1/8" nipple & I probably used a heat gun to soften the hose & onto the 1/8"nipple.

My '90 has the 4" Body Lift but the '92 is still stock.

BTW, for years I've run all kind of different fuels in both rigs.... WVO or WMO mixes w/diesel in both these rigs. Yrs ago I added a long threaded schrader valve/truck valve stem that I threaded, then drilled a hole thru the fuel fill cap, then inserted thru fill cap & tightened. My plan was that when I changed filters I could GENTLY blow some air into tank & fuel up to/thru fuel filter. This was before I installed the electric Holly Red fuel pump.

One day I (I'll never fess-up that I did this but.....) I changed filter on the '90. I started pushing fuel by GENTLY blowing air into rear fuel tank with my tire air chuck. Was having a bad-hair day or feeling a bit brave or something. Anyway, I kept airing it up more & more, figured that a little air good, then lots be better....on & on. Heard tank popping & popping, but didn't think anything. LOL

When I got thru I noticed the tank all bulged & misshapen. Turned out I now had a 29 gal factory rear fuel tank that also turned out to run out of fuel at 1/4 full because now the fuel pick-up umbrella was way up off tank floor. But thankfully I never had a leak!

Live & learn.....
