Not sure if this image shows up, but I came across these seats in an ‘83 F250 for sale in my area. I’ve never seen these seats before and the seller says they are original to the truck. I like them, and I’d like a set like it to go in my regular cab with blue interior. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

They look very similar to the seats in my 91. I believe they were some kind of higher end option because I have seen them occasionally.

My '86 Ranger STX 4x4 had the low back version of those in it. It was a 63k mile 1 owner truck when I bought it in 2016.

I don’t know if those seats came from ford in the early 80s, but it was common back then for dealers to take on all kinds of upgrades and add on features both on a per customer basis as well as creating their own limited editions. There used to be many aftermarket suppliers of custom seats and parts JC Whitney being on of the ones that survived since the OEMs realized what they were missing out on. We had a ‘79 f350 regular cab that had a fancy Steelhorse seat I think it was called a “cattleman’s special” it had a fold down center section with cup holders long before they were available from ford.

Ah, that makes sense. My interior is in pretty good shape, but I get nervous about the low backs from these years. It’d be real cool to have a set from an early 2000s king ranch. I haven’t found much info on that swap yet though.
