Yes I am a fan of ceramic coating our exhaust components to prevent rusting and really help keep the heat in. My material is actually a cerakote, same stuff justin uses on his turbo kits and it holds up significantly better than your typical ceramic coating, but anything is better than nothing imo. My gripe with header wrap is it leaves a place to trap moisture and can quickly rot our piping, otherwise it works well for heat insulation.

Thanks for the info guys. I would love to cerakote everything but not this time around. I had planned to take my time on this repair and do it right but as usual I can't plan for everything.
Spent most of my day Saturday drilling out all the broken exhaust studs on my brother in law's cylinder heads out of his f150. He got a bit ambitious on his head gasket replacement and made a bit more work for himself.
So... The most time I can spend here is de scaling and slapping some vht paint on.
Got the valley pan/oil return grommet out and replaced . That thing was cooked to a crisp. Ran some of the bits through the parts washer at work today. Will see what else I can get done tonight but it's already overdue for reassembly and I'll just have to make do with what time I have for now.

Managed a few extra minutes after work to blast the y pipe , cross over and up pipe. Better to just get it done now.
Slip joint had a good amount of corrosion and will need some help sealing . Picked up ceramic paste sealant hoping it will do the job.

Cleaned up the intake hat. Needs a bead for the hose connection desperately. Looking to fix that before it goes back together.
And I had to cobble together a setup on the vise for rusted hardware extraction.

Made a small adapter to facilitate the hose seal on the exterior of the intake snail. Been fighting that hose wanting to slip off since I got the truck. Have some devcon that should hold it on nicely . Could weld it up. But not setup for tig at home and had more important matters at hand.
