heres what its looks like in the cab..

Ahh. I forgot that the other gauges say NORMAL too. It's been almost a year since I drove my F250. Vans had the late 70s F-series style cluster through 91.

hmmmmnmm

I would

Clean those connectors/connections at the alternator is a start....clean your battery terminals connections, make sure the mating alternator wires are making good contact and don’t have loose connections. Then start the truck,

13.4 volts with the truck running or off ?

How much resistance is in the alternator pulley? , belt off

does the battery light stay on or does it go away and come back on ?

the 13.4 is while running at idol. i also noticed this morning whith headlights on and stoped at a light with the turn signal on and heater blowing on high it would drop down to just before the N... as soon as i start moving it goes back up too the middle... I havent taken the belts off yet might even just be loose.

Sounds like your regulator is starting to fail or possibly a bad wire from alternator to the batteries for charge you say 13.4 but it should be somewhere in the 14-low-mid if working properly mine fails regularly but hoping to fix a ground issue causing it soon I kept replacing regulators to find out there is a short in my harness

If the switch is working right, poor/no vacuum. If it's gone bad, it thinks there's poor/no vacuum even if there is good vacuum. It's supposed to warn you that you have no power brakes. Wish mine had worked when I threw the alternator belt but only heard a tiny thump at highway speed, so I had no idea. Thankfully when I went to brake eventually, it wasn't a panic stop so I was able to get to a truck stop about 5 miles away to see what was wrong.

my brakes feel ok probably beed to be bleed a little bit... another one corssed off the list and potentially more to come haha. i did tske the belts off and spun the alternator by hand and tried it for play seemed solid no weird hard spots or anything that concerned me.

You would know if you have no vacuum. You'd be stomping the pedal with both feet and putting your weight into it.

Yup. I unplugged mine for the same reason.

Glad that I didn't confuse you into unplugging the vacuum line from it. LOL

If I lose vacuum to the point of affecting the brakes... Well, I'll take my chances on that. I'm still strong enough to stand on that brake pedal and get er stopped, if that happens.

But having that light come on all the time, affects your transmission, if you have an E4od. At least it did mine. Gave er about 50 miles after disconnecting that, and suddenly the trans started to act better.

That trans doesn't need vacuum, does it? Very weird that they'd tie a vac warning light to a trans that doesn't even vac.

The brake light on the dash, activates something else that affects the trans. My memory isn't the best.
