Hey Oilburners! Wanted to let everyone know that I am now taking orders for the 38 gallon tank kits, I've worked out designs for 5 different sending units for the fuel gauge to be dead on accurate with the deeper tanks, so no wiring is required for the install, except for those who want the kit for bypassing the selector switch, you will just need to loop the input and output wires for the rear gauge. The base kit comes with all the necessary hardware for the install, fuel fittings for the billet sump, 38 gallon powder coated tank, and new straps for the deeper tank, for $375 shipped to your doors within the US. There are options on the website to add on a new sending unit if you don't want to bother with modifying the stock sending unit, as well as pushlock hose in 3/8" and 1/2" diameters.

Thanks!

At least on my E350, it appears that a late 70s-1980 33 gallon Bronco tank could fit in place of the 19ish gallon rear tank. Almost the same width and depth, and about 4" taller. Same style mounting straps too. Dunno if the sending unit's resistance would be right, but I bet it is... since the vans use the late 1970s truck gauges.

The sumps have two ports, so you can setup a high flow feed and return right at the bottom of the tank for easy access and to get every drop of fuel out of the tank. The high flow return becomes really important for big e fuel setups that move a lot of fuel at idle out the return via the bypass regulator, where the stock return lines cannot support much flow without backing up and affecting the pump output and advance. Not as important for a stock setup, but certainly not bad to have

Just curious, do you have any options for guys like me who already have a 38gal tank? I've never truly gotten my fuel sender to work properly so I'd really be interested in that if it was available separately.

I’ve gotten more interest in this today than the kits haha, I got the sump on the site this morning and I’ll get the sending units on there in a few hours once I’m done in the shop. Sump is $75 shipped, sending units are $100.

Do the sending units need to be used with a sump, or do they pull from the top side like oem? I'm curious, could you post some pictures of your sending units when you get a chance?

Nope, all the sending unit does is work the fuel gauge, with the deeper tank you need the sump. I’ll post some pictures, you’ll see them on the website

I finally remembered to take some pictures last night of the modified sending units, this one is going into a 91. The float arm is stainless rod that I heat and bend into the same design of the stock float arm, just with the correct geometry for the extra depth. Each one is installed and checked with an ohm meter individually to confirm its accurate. I added the sump kit to the website and adjusted how I listed this kit so it can be ordered with or without the sending units and sumps, with a starting price of $200. Ill try and get the sending units listed on there as well so that can be ordered individually.
