I got the top of the motor off and was vacuuming out the valley pan and the head with the cover off. Looking at the broken head bolt that was causing this headache, I figured what the hell and try and get some needle nose pliers on it and see if I could turn it. It came out easier than any bolt I've been pulling out for the last day. Unbelievable. I'm kicking myself in the ass for not even trying it.

At this point I would probably still pull that head and replace the gasket.

I'm going to call for some numbers on doing the heads. This was supposed to all have been done 30k ago.

One thing I'd recommend - If possible, just have them re-grind the valves as minimally as possible, and take any material you surfaced off the head off off the seats as well.

If you do have to buy new valves...you'll have to have them take some material off the seats. Valve 'recession' into the head is CRITICAL. Make sure it's at least at the high end of the spec, if not *over* spec. Under spec or at the low side can and will cause piston to valve interference.

Why would the heads need done again? Take a look at them yourself (guides and valve sealing) throw them back on there and run it.
