Hi all, I am trying to do my leaking injector fix. I have run into a snafu. Despite removing all the attachments to the lines/pump including the four bolts around the timing housing it's not easily coming off.

I watched this:

Are there other bolts holding it down I need to release? (besides the four)

Here's the picture.

If I rock the pump a little it moves some but feels like it is still screwed down somewhere in this area. All the injectors are disconnected. I am afraid to use too much force.

Hope you didn't jump a tooth on the timing gear but take the bolts from around the up to the cover off and disconnect the fuel lines off the injectors and the three behind the housing cover and it will slide back then come out

Your procedure is not what we recommend here. You stand too great a chance of slipping a tooth on the IP gearing. That's guaranteed to mess you up.

Please read through the Tech Article section shown at the top of this section of the forum. For what you are doing, pay particular attention to Mel's excellent article (That's a link). Part of the article tells you how to remove the IP in a much safer manner.

You can bend the Injector lines away from the injectors to remove w/o moving the IP. Take the 4 stiffeners off before loosening lines (remember where they go or take pictures) to ease the bending. NO SHARP BENDS

I'll second, third, and maybe even fourth what the guys above said about leaving the housing where it's at. It will come out with all of the lines attached, but it's not easy. Assuming that you have a 6.9, you will need remove the fitting at the back of the pump where the hard line from the fuel filter attaches. When you rock it a little bit, what you're probably feeling is the RTV that the housing is sealed down with.
