I have done some looking on the forum and haven't dug far enough. I want to replace all of my belts as 2 look original and the others old. I want to get Gates belts as that's what I have always run and plan on purchasing them online. I understand @Cubey just asked about Masterpro belts and it looks like @riphip has commented on a few threads laying out his Dayco belts.

From what I understand I need 4 belts and think I (please correct if I am wrong) need the following:
Qty 2 - Crank/Fan to PS Pump - Gates 9600
Qty 1 - Crank/Fan to ALT - Gates 9560
Qty 1 - ALT to Vacuum Pump - Gates 7312

I of course will be looking to get the HD ones if available.

Currently my PS pump has 2 Motorcraft belts (can'read P/N), Alternator I can only see "R3E", and the VP is a "premium top cord" with the numbers 31013 and 15310 on them. Alternator is slapping around good.

I also wanted to make sure I have to correct tools/direction on how to tighten. I can figure it out, but it is nice for me to have a reference. From what I have seen here:

Power Steering pump - 1/2" breaker bar
Vacuum Pump - 3/8" ratchet and extension
Alternator - Assorted wrenches or Crescent and pry bar

Am I missing anything here?

Try to find matched set for your PS pulleys
Mine is a 1986 6.9 but I think the belts are the same. I use the DAYCO GOLD TOP COG belts from Rockauto.com

A/C: 17630......A/C to WP & Crank (13A1600)
VP: 15325......VP to ALT (11A0825)
PS: 17600......PS to WP & Crank (13A1525)
ALT: 17425......Short belt from ALT to WP only (13A1080)...Eliminates vibration that long belt develops (not a Gold)

I use the cogged belts. seem to last longer & don't have to crank down on them for better grip

Thanks Rick. So you do recommend me getting rid of the long alt belt? To cross reference the Gates numbers I see:

17630 = 9630
15325 = same or 7325
17600 = 9600
17425 = 9425

This look correct?

The short one cuts out the vibration from the longer one. Some have added an idler off the Alt mounting bracket but I found this belt works better (I did the idler also). The cogged belts 'bite' better than the smooth.
Belts should be correct but check them out anyway.

Belts all fit. That 9425 fit perfectly @riphip and I’m glad to see it’s not slapping around in there as previous. PS Pump was tough a little awkward to tighten, need the wife for the alternator though. Bit annoying that every bolt is a different size for each device. Gotta love engineers.
