They look good from the pics, do they seem decent quality? What did that set cost? Looks like a worthwhile upgrade as long as they're not $800/pr like the other ones that are available...

They seem alright. I dont know how to tell the difference between cheap plastic vs good plastic. I have $147 into the headlights and $237 for the projectors, shrouds, bulbs, ballasts, headlight relay harness, bulb holders, and glue. So $384 total. Have not put them in or tested them yet. The projector retrofit kit was on sale.

Separating the headlight lens from the housing was a lot harder than it looks.

Bake them in the oven?

Yes I baked them for ~7 minutes at 230 degrees. I had to reheat them a couple times because I felt like it cooled off too much. The sealant/glue didnt come off gooey like I expected. I also accidentally scratched some of the chrome reflective material off on one of the housings.

Could you give us a parts list?

Could you give us a parts list?

-Ebay clear lense headlights
-G5-R projectors
-Hylux 2a88 35w ballasts w/d2s adapters
-Morimoto d2s XB 5500k bulbs
-Apollo 3.0 shrouds
-MotoControl 9007/9004 headlight relay
-Morimoto black headlight sealant
-Mini HolD2rs bulb holders

I chose to go with those projectors because they were on sale and has a 35mm mounting stud. I dremeled out the hole where the bulb goes in the stock headlight and mounted the projectors.

I bought everything from Lightwerkz. It was $100 cheaper than anywhere else I could find because of the holiday sale they had going.

Any advice on cutting the mounting holes?

It mounts using a 35mm stud that goes through the hole where the bulb goes. I used a dremel and enlarged the hole in the housing. I also trimmed off about half of the distance that it stuck out. I used the nut that came with the projector to mount it.

Those look really nice, I'm looking forward to seeing them installed. Are you planning to use the orange corners or are you swapping to all clear? I'd like to see a pic of these next to the xlt orange and chrome corners if you have a chance while you're installing everything.

I ordered a set as well, the headlights on ernest could use replaced anyways. I'm curious how awful the halogens are, I have no issues HID swapping them but I hate trying to separate the plastic from the light itself. I'm wondering if I could sit the thing in front of a torpedo heater instead of bake it in the oven, I'm sure the wife will not approve of it in the oven. I'm guessing anything is going to be an upgrade over my yellowed lenses I currently have.

Lol it would be nice if the lenses just fell off like they did on the old lights that were on my truck. I barely even pulled on them and the lenses hopped off.

It's a shame they don't make sealed beam lights in this size, there are so many 5x7 sealed beam led's you can get on amazon and that's what I put in my 6.9 and this is my road:

It's got a mostly flat cutoff too on the low beam mode. I've never got high beamed one time with them. I'd love to put that in a bricknose but there isn't a good way because of the sizing.

If you get the lenses off of these new lights the LED's may fit inside the housing, but there wouldn't be a good way to secure it and have it look professional like the HID's. I may just do a similar HID swap with FX-R bixenon HID's in mine, but I'm going to put them in as is for now and try to get a shot of how they look with old boring sylvania silver star halogens.

I guess my thought was if the new clear lenses alone aren't an upgrade it would be a couple hundred dollars cheaper versus hid retrofit or aussie fixtures to if possible buy the clear lense lights and take the cover off, and mount these inside them:

https://www.amazon.com/Headlights-H...030395&sprefix=sealed+led+h&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

But I'm not sure how well that would fit inside the existing reflector housing. I'd like to think you could black out the inside entirely and make a little shim to jb weld to center those sealed leds but that's more work.
