I treated my tank with some Hot Shots Secret Diesel Extreme and I somehow came in contact with it either directly from a paper towel that I later wiped my forearm with to clean off grease during my W/S install, or from traces of it still in my diesel fuel that got on me during the install. Either way, it caused a mild chemical burn on my arm.
And yes, I think I can blame it for the LARGE red area I had on my arm within a day or so of installing the W/S. I recall rubbing my arm with a paper towel after working underneath. I don't recall what was on it, since I've never had any such problem before.
The label says, in the tiniest print, that "CAUSES SEVERE SKIN BURNS". Not even that it "may" cause skin burns, but flat out that it DOES:
This warning can be found on both the Extreme additive and their "everyday" stuff, which I spotted at a Pilot Travel Center last night, which is how I noticed the warning, so I suspect it's on all their fuel additive products.
I have had endless kinds of auto chemicals on my skin over the years and this has NEVER happened before, so be very careful with their products... it doesn't mess around. It WILL burn your skin.
