That's not fried that's seared, they do that to seal in the juices....

I'd bet Wes has one, I might be able to find one if you come up empty.

Only wiring harness I could find was out of an automatic. Any special thing I will have to do to make this work?

Well new harness installed, had to pull pump to get it all out as well as replace the injection line that we found was cracked and seeping fuel next to the filter housing. Went ahead and replaced it with a line from a van to be rid of that timing adapter I always have to fight with. Turned the pump up another flat just for sng, bout to put the inspection cover back on the up housing and then fight the turbo back on there and hook everything back up. Hopefully this wiring harness works well. It looked really good and believe it or not it was perfectly clean! Also put another known good gp controller and relay cause comparing the new one I had to the old one the wiring was different and the go controller was also different. The wife thinks the new controller may be to blame for the first one cooking off. We will see. Needs to get some cash built real quick and get that 110 cc pump from @Thewespaul and get this rig going even better!

So far found for loose grounds:***: and the best part is is the ground coming off of the starter was also loose but never had a problem engaging the starter not sure why or if this even relates but either way not good. The gauge cluster turns off with the key now but still tries to heat up the wires so have it disconnected still going to have to figure that out pretty quick I believe. Thoughts?

Still doing the same bs so I disconected the white wire from the gp relay and I can now turn the key on without the wires heating up. Looks like I'm stuck using the block heater.

I wouldn't worry about the starter. They usually ground through the starter body to the adapter plate.

No you aren't.

Connect your own wire, where the white wire was. Run that into the cab. Put on a switch. Run the other side of the switch to ground.

If you use a momentary switch, you now have a manual GP. Hold that switch on for 5 to 8 seconds to cycle your GPs.

I tried this just a minute ago. Lol. Still made one of the two thicker yellow wires start smoldering on the new harness as soon as I mashed the button. But not wen I release it? I'm a bit stumped. Replaced the harness from the firewall forward(which getting the large round plug to let loose was a bear) and no change so something inside the truck is causing this? Only other thought, tomorrow morning maybe try the large ground on the front of the block beside the harmonic balancer. Maybe the large wire is toast? Just loose and crud between? Il check that tomorrow. Really frustrated cause I truly am the world's worst wen it comes to wiring of any kind.
