Probably not to bad, my pump maxed out at 21psi was getting good mileage, but it was only 2wd. Based on my truck and a few others on this site, I think its safe to say that these trucks can hold a lot more boost and make a lot more power than what they have been. Ohh and my truck had factory studs.

Factory studs?? Or original head bolts?

As far as the turbo goes, there is a restriction in the factory setup to keep from blowing the oil through the turbo. Oil MUST sit in the bearings for more than a wash to extract the heat out of the parts prior to being sent back. Look into the tube that is factory to the oil pressure gauge on the back of your engine. It has a restrictor in it too. SWS

Where did you get that info from. That oil is already up to 120 to 180 + degrees, at engine operating temp.

The restriction on the oil pressure gage is to keep it from pulsating.

Several sites have info on the restrictors that I have seen. Maybe it is a gasser thing but 120-180 is a lot cooler than 900+ degrees. As far as the part where the gauge pulses, what does that mean? Why would the gauge pulse? The volume in the line for the normal gauges is not near enough to see the canges in fluctuation that occur when there is a change. If that were the case, you would see a change in pressure during a shift with an automatic with both hot and cold oil. The line size for that is usually about 1/4" from what I understand. A lot bigger than what the gauges are that I have (and most people too).

quick question, what if someone had a non-wastegated turbo system on there truck already and they then installed a psd turbo along the framerail just like the OP, would one have to get an aftermarket wastegate for the engine mounted turbo? or would the psd framerail turbos wastegate be good enough?
also would running an intercooler with the compound turbo setup be necessary?

Good to know. I did not know there was a difference in the bearing/bushings.
