Thats just how these roads look, they are pretty worn down and reflective, same thing with this on a sunnier day, pulling the big turbo off today and going to retorque the heads. Gotta make it last till January so I can knock out some customer projects before then, and it’s just not reliable to have this on a stock engine with a big ring gap. It’s plenty fun through, cooks the tires up to 50mph until the clutch starts slipping

Tomorrow the truck is going on the dyno, so did a bit of last minute work to get it up to *****. Replaced the leaking champion radiator and changed the oil with the second dose of PDD diesel 15-40w. I also deleted the CDR, and welded in one of my -12 an bungs that I use for my valve covers into the timing gear cover.

I ran an elbow off that and push lock hose straight into the intake, super simple leak free setup.

Did a 0-60 run to get a baseline data point for the dyno tomorrow

I could probably have done a bit better if I repeated it and got less tire spin on the launch, but it’s fairly accurate for how the truck performs in its every day daily driver trim. My goal is to get 300hp out of it tomorrow, I think it’s doable with this setup and a pretty good number for a bone stock 58mm turbo. Just as a recap, all that’s done to the truck currently is:

CDD 130cc db2 (150+cc peak)
Stock injectors that came with the junkyard engine
Head studs torqued to 120 ft lbs (reused from three engines now)
CXRacing 31x12x3 intercooler
Wastegate port deleted with 3” hood stack
Stock idit turbo from the last junkyard engine with plenty of shaft play
Walbro GSL392/ Holley bypass regulator

Engine scattered just coming up to speed with no load, so didn’t get a reading. Going by the 0-60 time it calculates to 380-430hp using an online calculator. I’ve got a video I’ll upload tonight.

It over powered the rods, I’m sure all the rods are bent and it just let go at the weakest one

I’m not surprised it blew, just would rather have gotten some data from the dyno first. Luckily looks the the turbo is fine, so it will go on the next engine and I’ll find the limit of the stock turbo with it, probably late January or February.

Dang man! Still hate that that happened. I was just gonna suggest that u put a set of injectors in it like the ones I just got from you to see what it could compliment with your setup. Guess I spoke too late, but then again it may have been in veign
