Does anyone know the part number for that little plastic wedge piece?

Thank you! I searched for that part number for hours. If I could like that post a dozen times, I would!

Unfortunately, it now shows as being made from unobtainium. Discontinued item.Everywhere I look.

There MIGHT be one in my other truck. I'll check sometime. If there is... It may be something that would be worth me taking to be 3d printed... Or even cast in aluminum or brass or something.

I have a friend whose job is 3d rendering with a laser. He also has a 3d printer.

Of course, this would be with a used wedge, so whatever wear is on there, would be reflected in the rendering and printing. But worth a try...

Failing all that, I would probably even try carving one out of something like ironwood, or zebrawood. Some kind of dense hardwood. ORRRR, (Just occurred to me... PVC pipe. I have some that is thick enough. Also could cast it out of HDPE. Milk jugs and plastic buckets...)

I don't know the year, but at some point the parking brake assembly was updated to no longer need the wedge. The wedge was part of the tsb 94V169001.
You can either buy a new assembly, or find how to identify the updated unit and pull one from a junk yard.
By the way, all I did was google "ford parking brake wedge."

I kid you not... I googled exactly the same thing. Found plenty of discussions. (Scanning those took hours.) Found plenty of pics. Never found the part number.

Got a package of six of them today!

Here is what is happening right now... Pedal goes down and stays down.

But it goes all the way to the floor, and the brakes do not hold the truck in place at all. It's like they are not even applied.

So... NOW... I have to figure out how to get it to 'tension'. Then I need to insert the plastic piece to keep it from tensioning any more.

Don't you just row the pedal a few times to get it to take up the slack? Maybe it needs a little pre load on the cable to work. WAG

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they have been adjusted way loose. I won't say any more than that, or I'll just get angry...

Going to let it be for a while. I'll look at adjusting things when I have better opportunity than I do now.
