The dash switch does nothing but put power to the motor to carry it through the park zone. There is a key-on power wire that goes directly to the motor that will run it in all positions except the park area. Make sure you have power to the motor at all times on one of those wires with the key on.

Even on the intermittent switch box feature, the intermittent box bumps the motor out of the park zone for just a second or two, and then kills the power from the switch, but the key on power will carry it through to the park zone again, till the intermittent box bumps it out of the park zone again.

Are they stopping in the middle of the windshield or is it that the intermittent wipers work sometimes and not others?

Not quite the middle but for discussion sake yes. Sometimes they park in the right place and other times they park after 3/4 of a swipe. If they're on intermittent and they park there, next "interval" they finish the last 1/4 of the swipe and park properly.

So in other words it has to be in the motor then right? If the switch just "takes it out of park" momentarily the parking signal must be internal to the motor.

If you are sure you have power to the motor at all times. One other thing to look at, and this can be tricky to find; Most wiper motors are mounted on rubber mounts so they are not so noisy. So they need a ground strap or ground wire to the motor. Over time this ground can get a hairline crack in it, and as the motor moves it opens and stops the motor, and then it closes and the motor runs and then stops again.

If you have good key-on power and a good ground to the motor, I would say it's the motor also.

Could it not be the module under the dash for the intermittent wipers? If you have a regular non intermittent wiper switch, you just unplug the module from the middle of the chain. Mine was bad and they seem to be unobtainium so I just went to manual. Don’t drive it in the rain much anyway. LOL

Remove "parking problem" from that title, and it becomes a completely different subject.

*sniff*

That module is somewhere in the center of the dash, right? Because mine is making a loud click every time the blades are activated. Might mean mine is going bad?

And if you don't drive it in the rain, here, you pretty much never drive it. LOL

We have trucks, laserjock has a "clean, restored functional classic" lol

That was part of the reason I'd posted in the first place. I was wondering if it was worth fussing with the intermittent control box. Seems to me we ruled that out unfortunately. I could try that but the way it's acting I really didn't expect that to be the problem, I just really didn't want to pull the motor and was hoping for an easy way out lol

I wouldn’t go quite that far. It’s been cleaned up but it’s no showpiece that’s for sure. LOL

The module is right behind the wiper switch. It’s easy to see with the front off the dash. Not easy to actually get to. The module literally goes in line with the standard plug. So you pull the plug out of the back and it goes right into the non-delay switch.

I was going to say semi-restored but then I thought back to your build thread and your intimate knowledge of every bolt on the truck, some of them multiple times, and realized semi-restored just wasn't fair LOL

My wiper switch is on the light dimmer/turn signal stalk.

The rather loud click I hear every time the wiper arms activate, is coming from behind the center of the dash. As in, behind the dash, between the driver and passenger.

Well, stop wasting my time!

Er, I mean, I'm sorry I wasted your time!

Er... Hey, I learned sumptin today! :D

:rotflmao

My RVs wiper switch is dash mounted above the headlight switch, far upper left. You have to lean forward to reach it. Dodge did similar back then too.
