The old stock is selling for $9 still, the newest filters I’ve seen are double that now.

My 127K '94 idit drinks oil. About a quart in less than 500 miles. Smokes on start up cold or warm and then clears out. Wonderful indicator of really bad valve seals. I am running Delo 15/40 and will eventually get those seals replaced . . next. . . , . . . month?
That truck so far has en a money pit with the repairs and maintenance and is currently looking at a trailer controller upgrade. There goes another $150.
Bet it’s still cheaper than a new one!!

Another vote for the Delo 400 15w-40. I had a '94 for 14 years. Started out with Rotella for a bit with no problems but switched to Delo after a year or so and never had an internal engine issue.

Going with Delo 400 for now. I want to run a strong synthetic a few times just to clean the engine, but currently I can't afford to patch any leaks that might result... And ofc, once cleaned I'll return to Delo or similar since apparently these trucks can't go all that far on oil anyways.

Speaking of... I cant find any oil change interval info on this thing. No owners manual and I can't find a repair manual for a diesel engine... 3k miles or is it longer?

The sticker on my engine says 5000 miles normal conditions or 3000 miles severe conditions

I guess they have a 0w40 has well. You would think they would give it a different T#

I think the T seems to be:

T4 - Standard conventional oil
T5 - Synthetic Blend
T6 - Full synthetic

At least from what I've seen.

2nd on the t6 syn 15-40. (I get from Wal-Mart) I live where it is more often cold then hot and figure it helps with cold starts. I also use the powerstroke filter for the extra quart. Been changing at roughly 3k and cant remember how much ive had to add. I'm installing a new intake and banks crank case vent with RDT. Well see how it does.
