Texas IDI Roundup- Dyno day and Show & Shine

For those not following the Classic Diesel Designs facebook page, I recently announced there that we will be hosting an IDI get together on November 16th. We've got some sweet looking trucks and some pretty big power IDIs coming out to lay down some numbers on the dyno. I will be running the shop truck, and Kevin Clausen will be running his R&D built bullnose, who's shooting for 500+ hp that day, so come out and see some records made in person!

When:
November 16th 2019

Gate opens at the shop at 8:30 am, we will be working on trucks and getting the group together for a cruise out to the dyno at 10:30 am. We will have breakfast tacos, coffee and donuts at the shop, once the group is together we will cruise out to the dyno and later out to get lunch.

If you wish to run your truck on the dyno, it will be $130 for three runs and $30 for each additional run. If you want your truck tuned while on the dyno, I will be providing that as a free service as long as time allows. Please rsvp for dyno sessions by October 31st so I can rent the dyno for the appropriate amount of time. You can contact me here, on the CDD facebook page and at [email protected].

If you just want to show up and check out some beautiful classic diesel trucks, please rsvp on the facebook page so I can budget how many breakfast tacos to make.

I will be there. I think the intercooler piping is still leaking. I am getting new clamp. I want you to take a look and tune .

After thinking about this for a while, I came to a conclusion. If I'm telling myself that I can't go visit my brother and his family now because of the bad engine that needs attention in my F150, I need to stop lying to myself about making it down to tour place. That's a 12 hour drive and my brother only lives 4 hours away. Of course, I may get extremely lucky and get another paid trip that way, but I kind of doubt it.

No worries! We will be doing another one next spring I'm thinking, maybe you will have your turbo on by then and we can see what it makes on the dyno!

It depends on when it gets warm in the spring. I'm NOT freezing myself to install the turbo. Plus I'm planning to pull the engine again so i can try the newer style rear seal. It would be nice to be able to drop off your headers. I'm getting tired of messing with them! Yesterday, I put all of my turbo parts in the little room where my air compressor is stored in my garage. It's pretty crowded in there, but at least the stuff's out of the way for now.

It's coming up! Can't wait to be there!
I'm not so focused on the show and shine part... Being my paint never shines... But hey! I'll bring a bed full of parts from my manual swap and other transmissions and what not I have laying around the shop! Cheap/free to members.

Towing my 5th wheel RV from Dallas to Canyon Lake area. Can’t wait to see the improvement on the drive home.
