Today i degreased my engine bay after rinsing it started and ran fine for a few minutes then it slowly died, over a period of 30 seconds, before i could get inside to hit tge throttle it died and wont restart. I have removed every connector i could find, bkew them out then WD40 them. I reved the fuel fikter and crand drained the bowl. I cranked it over about 30 seconds and didnt even get 2 oz into the filter housing. I dont know what tge flowbis supposed to be on a lift pump but surely more tgan 2 oz. Is thereva sensor of any kind controlling fuel into fuel housing? I git a lot of sensors unhooked and extra sensor wires on tge motor.

Washing wont affect fuel.
Now you could have wires shorted under the filter bowl.

i tried to disconnect and blow out every connector, there was one on the passenger side under the fuel bowl but couldnt get to that one. What should be the fuel flow rate?? surely more than a couple of oz.

By my calculations (and the only spec I could find of 35gph) you should get 30 ounces in 30 seconds of cranking.
On the fpr, use a valve stem tool to remove the core, slip a piece of hose on, then run that to a container to see how much you get.
I would say this is unrelated to the washing. How much fuel is in the tanks? If around/under 1/4, it's likely that the showerheads have broken off.

I wasnt sure if there was anything electrical that controls fuel or not, i did notice the water in fuel and fuel filter lights on during cranking. the tank was over 3/4 full and couldnt figure out why fuel would be affected at all. hopefully when the sun is out tomorrow i can get to that plug and blow it out.
i do have a round housing 3 pin sensor on top rear passenger side of hpop with out anything going to it but there is 3 wires in a nearby harness have been cut off.
And 2 brown wires just hanging between the hpop and fuel bowl on the drive side too.

Maybe get some pictures of the plugs and wires you have.
I personally pulled out the wiring under the fuel bowl, removed what I didn't need (fuel heater, water in fuel, and the filter restriction sensor) I was going to efuel so all that was null anyways. But when I did so, I saw where alot of that same wiring was in terrible shape. I'm surprised it ran.
You definitely have a fuel supply issue, maybe more. Look at the ipr connector as well.

yes i get all the normal lights. today i disconnected the glow plug relay and shot a qick shot of ether in the air filter, it fired up and then died as expected so i think the fuel pump is gone, 317000 miles and probably original.just strange it happened to go out just that day. i would like to go to electric fuel pump but not sure if i can run it thru the factory pump and let the fuel return on the filter housing be the return. what pressure pump should i be looking at? or just stick to a manual pump??
i also noticed today the rod opening and closing on the exhaust side of turbo, is this normal?? thought that might be the reason she runs like a choked dog in the mornings, so much so it feels like i am hitting the brakes.
sorry so long winded, new to this turboed 7.3, was used to my old idi

I'd stick with the mechanical pump. Normally they weep out the bottom into the engine valley prior to failing.

I'd remove the EBPV (the rod you are speaking of) as it serves practically no purpose.

i found myb problem, the ICP sensor quit working, found a video on youtube that explained how to cheeck it and as soon as i unplugged it it started right up, removed the sensor and i do have oil pumping out of its hole, ordering both ICP sensor and ICP valve and replace as a set.
If i remove the rod on the turbo do i need to tie the valve one way or another?? someone told me i could hook it up and use it like a exhaust brake. Somewhere i read to unplug it but i cant find a wiring plug going anywhere near the turbo tower.

are you using OEM or international replacement parts? I'd strongly advise to do that.

The EBPV is controlled by a two wire pigtail at the base of the turbo pedestal. Unplugging it will make it stay in whatever position it is at. Ideally you'd want to completely gut the valve and plug the actuator as it's a common source for an oil leak.

Removing the EBPV was the first mod done to both of my trucks many moons ago.

Actually the guy i got the truck from has a set from IH.
ok i found that plug, guess i need to do is remove clamp from down pipe and make sure its wide open until i can pull everything and do it correctly. I think the wires going from the sensor to the ecu are the ones that were cut off so the ecu done know what to think
