I recently got a 92 crew cab, turbo 7.3. Having trouble getting the converter to lock up. Found the write-ups in this forum and made the mod, but it won't lock up. The wire colors were different, ended up slicing the brown and orange wire. It's taking .6 amps, but doesn't lock up. Here is the diagram I found on Mitchell, did I tap the correct circuit? There is no flashing overdrive light. Any help would be appreciated. Also, it it ok to tow a small 5th wheel on the interstate without lock up? I've already installed a huge trans cooler.

ETA: can't upload the image.

Ok, got the right wire. However, during lock-up, it drops the rpm by about 500, but as soon as I accelerate, it's got about 200rpm of slip. Does this mean I need a new converter?

If you decide to put a converter in it do yourself a favor and get a low stall triple clutch disc converter. Don't waste money on the fancy big name ones, I had a shop that builds powerstroke converters build one for me with the idi 4 stud front cover. Best money I spent on that truck.
