And this ladies and gentlemen is why we don’t buy Autolite brand anything in today’s world. I told co worker a week ago it was a bad idea to buy them and he thought he should give me a stern talking to about how he’s always used autolites yada yada..

Cruising highway speed on the way to work in co workers truck and.... loud noises and bangs commence o_O:rolleyes:

Enjoy!

Yeah autolight is a no go we don't even carry autolight plugs or anything where I work because they have a pretty high failure rate

They’re trash to say the least. First thing I did when I bought my idi was get the autolite glow plugs out as fast as possible.

Driving 80mph in a 4 banger ranger (8 sparkys) in OD sounds like a grenade going off when it blew out.

Nope used them clean up until 90s when stop being a mechanic, can't say I ever had a problem then with them. Did a lot of engine rebuilding and use a lot of them.

I know they’ve been crap for the past 15 years or so. Had a buddy in high school whos f150 decided it wanted to eat not one but two autolites.
I’m guilty for running cheap autolites in the past on the old 351w in my mustang. Well, before a failed connecting rod wrapped around the crank. Got replaced with another 351w and went with Bosch plugs.

They were the best you could get when they were made in the USA. I worked in the plant until 08 when the layoffs started. They eventually moved everything to Mexico, now the plant is just office and warehouse space. We made everything there, Ford was the biggest customer. Yep, motorcraft and autolite sparkplugs were the same, just changed the printer setting. Also made Harley Davidson plugs there.

Just another example of a once good/trusted brand, gone south.... Lack a quality is a contemporary epidemic as far as im concerned.
Ford wiring harnesses and other parts have been being built there for a very long time....
