There are a huge number of LUK SMF's that purport to fit my truck. Which LUK part # do you recommend?

I'm guessing the LUK 07-225. Is that the 12" clutch that's been recommended?

Thanks.

It's been so long that I can't remember for sure, but that number seems to be familiar.

I put a LUK in mine 10 years ago, only issue I ever had was the plastic sleeve in the t/o bearing came apart. 150K miles and had to replace the clutch. I have to say the disc still had plenty of material left, and I do tow a 8500K fifth wheel and a 4 horse stock trailer quite a bit.

After all these years, might you remember which LUK part number you installed? I'm just now trying to make sure I buy the correct/best LUK product. Thanks.

Looked it up and that is the part # for 88-92 7.3
At Summit Racing it is 302 + 10 for shipping , not a bad price for the whole thing.

Yes, it's Luk 07225. I got mine from RockAuto (they always have a 5% discount code available). Current price is $249.89, take off 5%, and then add shipping. Depending on your location it's likely the cheapest option.

I remember paying quite a bit more for the clutch kit and flywheel when I replaced mine.

I have had this same slipping issue a couple times on the past......one was a leaking front seal on trans (4sod....90wt) the other was a 7.3 Powerstroke that had dumped a gallon of oil in the valley from blown hpop. Both of them would have gone on forever if not made to slip. It is like a torque limiter or top gear acceleration limiter. If it is oil on the disc drive it till your time. If it is the dmf fix it now!
