I have an 86 F250 6.9
A month ago I got rid of the OEM lift pump and did the electric lift pump upgrade with the Duralift pump per instructions posted here. Lately it will start right off cold, start up right after shutting down hot but leave it sit for a few minutes or more when hot and it wont start until enough time has passed for the glow plug controller to cycle again like it does at a cold start. Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

Usually with hot start issues, you need a new injector pump. I'm not sure about the immediate hot starting back up. You can check this by pouring cool water over the injector pump when it won't start hot. What this does is cool the pump back down.

Yeah they seem to re-start warm if only shut off for a min or so, but if left sitting a while, they won't re-start. Maybe they get hotter yet after sitting in the hot engine bay with no cool fuel flowing thru them?
But yea, if yours is doing this, its probably new pump time. Trying pouring some luke warm/cool water over the pump when its not starting, if it fires right up after....there's your problem.

It sounds to me like your electric pump is pumping fuel through the IP and cooling it. Suggests your IP is tired.
