Can you install the Edge kit on a 91? On their website it only goes down to 94. I like the idea of having one screen to look at.

Yes, you just have to use the 12volt accessory harness instead of the obd2 harness

Not sure why they say it only goes down to '94. Probably only supports OBD trucks down to '94.

Awesome pics and great data.

Your speeds, mileage and loads are similar to mine but I have the e4od and 4.10's. Some 4.10's would really make her pull.

I struggle with that. I want the 4.10s when towing, but love being able to cruise with traffic in the areas where 80mph is the speed limit and I'm just carrying a couple dirtbikes.

FYI for those curious about the CTS2 setup for these old trucks.

When you connect it for the first time it gives you a list of manufacturers to choose from. Scroll to the very bottom to get the 12v option:

It will then ask if you are sure you want EAS only:

It then looks for all the gauges hooked to your truck- you can configure them however you want as you choose them.

The issue I am having is that some of the gauges are not showing up. Tech support is going to ship me a new adapter.

I have no doubt that we will get it working right. Before I added the new EAS adapter it worked flawlessly.

I'd also like to add the backup camera that plugs right into the back.

it sounds like your fueling is just perfect then 1250 with foot on the floor with that much weight is perfect, heck you could even go up some more and then have more room to feather, but still.

Side note for anyone curious i did a turbo boost gauge and a intake boost gauge to measure boost drop across the intercooler. (hypermax kit for 093) because I was worried about the 2.25'' piping if it were a restriction. at cruising i saw 1.5 psi drop which is about what a very efficient ic like the hmax should do (generall 2 psi is what most other people have seen. from my research) and about 4-4.5 psi at 27 psi with water **** on at 3300rpm. Which i guess is normal

any idea how much boost you were making? because if you are still wastegated that could help bring down egts even more.
I doubt if you have the banks downpipe for the factory exhaust you will notice much gain from a full 3'' downpipe but Im not sure.

The boost gauge was not working for the trip. It had worked prior to this and I could hit just over 10psi. Wastegate is wired closed.

The downpipe and turbo are Ford OEM originals. (modified ATS design I've heard??)

Just took it for a test drive. Without the trailer I really could not get the boost up. Cruising at 75 I was making 2 PSI and could see about a 30F temperature drop from turbo outlet to intake.

Runs out like a beast, but maybe that's just because the trailer is unhooked now!!

A little more testing yesterday with the trailer in tow. Glare was bad as I was driving out of a rainstorm and into the sun.

This was pulling a small grade at about 65 mph.

I came to a steep pull that I should have cruised right up, but traffic starts slamming on the brakes for a guy pulling a trailer way too slow and not getting over into the 2 Lanes to his right. So I accelerated up and passed him. It was an OBS Powerstroke pulling a small aerodynamic trailer. Not sure why he was going that slow.

This move got the EGTs a little higher than I'd like, but it was only there for a few seconds.

I'm posting these because I have a few ideas about improving the system and want to be able to show what a bare-bones install is doing. A 130F degree drop is pretty good in my book, but I have a few experiments in mind to get the "Approach" closer to ambient. It will be interesting to see.

I've found "Approach" defined as the difference between ambient and final I/C outlet temperature.

Much of the research I have been doing centers around asking why Ford engineers choose to use this system on the new 6.7l diesel trucks.

Well, ignore the previous post...

I was out looking under the hood and found a pretty good boost leak where a boot rubbed against the fuel support. So I guess those numbers are meaningless and explain why my boost sensor has seemed flaky.

So I should go back and unlike it now?

loving the info great to see someone doing something out of the norm.
If you are still running the stock flattened downpipe, oh my heavens man order the banks downpipe its like $100 and swap it out.
it will also provide a good back to back testing to see how much your egts drop i suspect 200* and possibly a couple psi boost gained.
anyway im pretty sure the only reason they went to a w2a charge air cooler on the 6.7 is due to space. if ya have been under the hood, there is no room. heck they even went back to a vacuum brake booster, i also would guess due to space. iirc the water 2 air intercooler is more efficient than a air to air charge air but a a2a is way cheaper for a manufacturer to produce, no coolant, no pump, no spare "radiator" etc.

In full disclosure I owned a '17 F-350 for about a year. That truck pissed me off to the point that I sold it and went back to the IDI. Best decision for me.

Yes. I really need to do the downpipe! Only reason I haven't is time to tear into it has been limited. Also not sure I totally grasp how to pull the hot side off correctly. Need to do some searching. If I have to pull the whole thing I am tempted to lift the cab and add a 1" spacer lift at the same time... And buy an upgraded turbo from Wes... And pull the bed to clean up the frame... And get it bed linered... And yes I'm really good at going down rabbit holes...And... More
