@ocnorb awesome!
how are you liking that edge cts 2 with the eas kit? Did you also know about the ability to run switches off it? I always have been curious as to how the eas kit is to work with? and how ya like it?

I like it. The thing has been flawless right up until I tried to add a second EAS adapter. The EGT gauge is Rock solid.

I hurriedly tried to add the extra gauges for this trip and ran out of time to troubleshoot. Tech support wants to send me a new EAS expander. I asked them to wait until I was home from our trip. I really hope to be able to display 5 separate gauges when all is said and done. 5-pods would have been too busy IMHO.

Lots of cars cutting us off on the highway today. We did ok, but this guy wasn't as fortunate. Prayers that everyone survived ok.

On a lighter note, we actually had to pass this group of motorcycles with sidecars. They seemed to be limited to about 50mph. This one is a KTM 1290 pulling a tent trailer.

OK. I wanted post a few thoughts that may or may not be interesting/relevant.

The truck overall did better than I expected. It's not a quick accelerator, but once up to speed it tugs along just fine. Much of the interstate we ran 70mph at 2000 rpm in 5th gear, downshifting as needed on steeper inclines.

I need to do the hydroboost brake conversion. My '86 had it and it was much better at stopping a load. At a gross weight just over 20k the stock brakes really don't quite cut it.
The ZF5 made it ok, but this would have been a nightmare coming down some of these passes with the automatic. The ZF5 really shined when we could downshift and use the IDI 'jake" sounding braking down the steeper stuff.

Fuel economy was about what I expected. The worst tank was high speed interstate and came in at 8.56 MPG and the best tank was 9.77 MPG on the slower winding backroads. Overall MPG was 9.18 MPG over about 1657 miles.

The intercooler worked well, but how well I cannot quantify as the gauges didn't work out for this trip. I would really like to do back to back testing against an Air/Air IC just to see how they stack up against each other. There were never any indications of heat soak or anything like that.

My fuel is turned up just enough that I would hit 1250 F EGT as I crested most hills with the throttle on the floor and ambient below about 80F. Above 80F I was having to lift slightly to get the EGTs down under 1250.

Thanks for riding along!

A pic of the gauges going over Lost Trail Pass...

The phone shows GPS speedo at 30 mph.

The turbo outlet temp is 302F!!

Ambient was getting hot air from the radiator at speed under about 35-40. So it shows too high. It was actually around 67F before we got to the slow part. Lots of 25mph corners as you climb up.

It would be nice to see some data on IC coolant temps, pre and post cooler to see how efficient both the IC and IC coolant-cooler are.

One more thing I forgot to add: This '94 still has the necked down 2.5" turbo outlet and downpipe.

I wonder how much the upgraded 3" downpipe would help?

Can you install the Edge kit on a 91? On their website it only goes down to 94. I like the idea of having one screen to look at.

Awesome pics and great data.

Your speeds, mileage and loads are similar to mine but I have the e4od and 4.10's. Some 4.10's would really make her pull.
