I wish man. Going to bite the bullet and fab through it this weekend. Trying to get back to the mechanical and electrical items which interest me more.

Solved a few long running mysteries the first half of today.

1. The front of the truck always looked slightly lopsided because the driver side cab support mount collapsed.
2. When I bought the truck I didn't know why the drivers door was crunched into the fender. I realigned everything once I put the new doors and fender on. It's cause the driver side cab support mount was collapsed.
3. The reason i couldn't tell how the pieces from LMC fit was cause the cab support mount was collapsed.

You get the theme ha

2" drop. Since I realigned everything I have to decide if I rebuild it structurally for the 2" drop or re-level the truck. Mechanical mindset I want to fix it structurally with the drop and not re-level everything cause it doesnt bother me aslong as its safe, structured, and rust repaired.

If it was me... As long as I was going to fix it anyway, it would forever bug me if I didn't fix it right. The way it was supposed to be.
To jack the cab up. I would need to take the fenders, doors, and core support off right? Anything else?

That's what I would need to do to fix it to how it was factory.

Me... I'd leave everything together. Open the windows, toss a strap through, and just lift the entire cab at once.

Of course, knowing me, I'd just make a plywood and 2x4 floor on the frame and set the cab back down. LOL

Haha Selahdor.
You wouldn't want to do it like that though, because when the cab mounts rust out in the outer edge and drop, it V pinches the doors and front fenders together. I realize now a reason why I see the mid Atlantic trucks around me with the doors and fenders pinched together.

I realigned the new doors and fenders to align with the drop, but if I raised the cab it would V out in reverse. No shortcuts to fix this.
I'm curious how the guy on here from Delco had the shop fix it without removing other stuff unless they did the structural alignment that I gave in one of my options.

That was the thread with the other PA guy who the body shop charged him more than estimated.

Am I reading this wrong or is system open to air twice during bleed?

Post 66 "
1. Crack open the bleeder
2. Put vacuum pump attachment into the bleeder.
3. Squeeze pump handle into theres about 2 inches of fluid in the catch can
4. Remove vacuum pump
5. Close bleeder

That's not a problem, the fluid will be coming out so there's no need to worry about air getting in. I've bled many systems by just opening the bleeder and letting it sit for a little bit, just have to keep an eye on the level in the Master Cylinder.

Yep gravity bleeding.

Drivers side cab mount. Its not pretty, most of the truck is rusted away but I patched and I can stand on the drivers side of the body and shake the cab and everything stays together.

It's starting to come together nicely. That's a lot of work that you're doing (not like I need to tell you) and props to you for tackling it.:Thumbs Up
