Is that the the big line coming off the front? It runs to the back of the motor to t into the return

Ok, I just wanted to make sure that was still good.

I personally would replace the lift pump AND the short piece of rubber hose on it. I would also GENTLY blow out the feed line with some compressed air while you have it off.

I've had a similar issue when the showerhead broke up in my rear tank. It would run fine and then suck up a large piece of strainer and die. If I let it sit (or switched tanks) the piece would fall off the pickup and then it would be fine until it sucked it up again.

I may or may not of replaced that hose yet when I was first trying to get it air tight. I'll have to check to be sure.
I found out it was the water seperator that was sucking air in tho and as a stop gap until I found one I liked I put one of these cheap filters in. It's worked fine so far but is this too dirty?

I have seen this problem a few times when the injection pump decides to go to lunch. Take the cap off the top of the pump where the shut down solenoid is and look inside for some little black specs. If u find some it is time for an injection pump.

I believe the pump is original with 140k on it so I am leary of it. But I'm getting pressurized fuel from the Schrader when it's running good and not when it's dieing. So thats why I suspect fuel delivery.
If I do pull the top off, isn't there a certain way to put it back on or a spring or something?

There are 3 screws on the top and a fuel line. It's pretty self explanatory to put back together but if u have questions just let me know. The governor flex ring is what comes apart and leaves those black specs in there. A rebuilt one should be made of a different material that is not as prone to failure.

Well I replaced the lift pump. Drove it and the pump works. However I'm not convinced it's fixed or not. About the time it would start to have issues the clutch stopped disengaging. So I'm not sure if it died due to that or the previous issue. But it took a minute of sitting and some cranking to get to start again.

Well that's weird. Went out this morning when it was cold and eyeballed the slave cylinder movement at around 5/8 mayby 3/4 of an inch. Disengaged just fine. Let it sit and idle till the motor was up to temp. (took awhile, I don't think the fan clutch is working)
And it was definitely not disengaging once hot again. I didn't have time to crawl under and measure slave travel once hot but I will try to tommorow.

Not sure if these two issues are related or not. I've been having slight issues with clutch disengagement for a few weeks but thought it was the slave not being seated right.
But it was dieing in neutral so I can't see that being the issue.

The dieing is probably a fuel problem. How full is your tank? What year, model and engine/tranny is your truck. Put the truck info in your signature by going to your user name above and to the right. Click on the user name and then click on signature and the info to your signature. This will save us from asking (again...) for the details of your truck.

The issue persists running on either tank when full. So it's not a broken shower head.
Sorry thought I had all relevant info in the first post.

But the pieces of the shower head could be stuck in the selector valve or fuel lines.
Far as the clutch, I would get all the old hydraulic fluid out, replace with new, bleed it. Then go from there.

I suppose it could be. But I've been driving it around and the issue is pretty consistent with regards to about 20 minutes or so or when everything is nice and hot.
All the clutch hydraulics except the line was replaced about 5 months ago. New fluid. Definitely an issue but I'm pretty sure not THE issue.

So I opened the top of the pump to look for junk. Didn't see anything. But I did notice that the fuel solenoid had a crack, and the ¿olive? on the return line is damaged.

New lift pump has definitely not solved the issue. Once hot and dieing I'm not getting anything out of the Schrader valve.
My caps are leaking, but I have the return to filter capped off so I'm not sure how air can get in there from there. But they don't leak until the engine is hot, which coincides with it dieing.

This truck has alot of issues. I'm getting pretty frustrated over what's an issue and what's THE issue because several things happen around the same time. When it gets nice and hot.
