A forklift? That's how we used to pull IDIs out of vans. It was A LOT easier than trying to use a cherry picker. I'm not sure that you'll save much time by removing the HVAC box and all of the other stuff just to have to pull the heads in chassis.

yeah its got a 6,000 lb capacity so should be good lol. yeah so i guess a engine pull would be in order. would only be the third time out lol.

look at it this way. Say you pull the motor and cant get it re-installed in time for the trip. That work isnt lost, you just have a head start on the job for when you get back. But if you **** around trying to pull the heads, and punt because of the studs, you'd prolly just pull the whole business anyway when you got back. just my .02.

i checked out my other set of heads.. most valves were ok but a few exhaust valves had a solid .040 of play.

i could use the heads that are on it but those might be gamble by the looks so far.
