Well some dummy just assumed that those pieces of diamond plate were 48" long...

Oh well. I've got ideas for that spot anyway. For now I'll just put a bolt through that board so it doesn't warp too bad.

It's essentially done. I have to put more bolts in the angle iron on the back, then I have to fasten the loose wires underneath it now that the deck is on. But it's usable now.

I'm sure I'll be modifying it sometime, and a winch mount of some sort is definitely in the plans eventually. I'd like to put some rub rails on it too in the future.

Your giving me some motivation to redo mine now

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Definitely the paint made the biggest difference. I'll oil the deck next year or so after the wood has had time to dry out.

The best part for me is I really shouldn't have to worry about the deck for a long time. My old trailer needed to be redecked but I just kept putting it off.

Well finally got the winch mounted. Managed to strip out one of the holes already too :frustrate

Made the mounts out of 5/8" plate, 4" wide.

Added a 3/8" thick backing plate to the inside of the frame channel.

That part had been done for a few weeks. Already painted and installed on the trailer. I was waiting for some hardware and time. Finally got it installed.

Plan on adding a piece of 3/8 angle iron to the back (front??) with a couple pieces going down and bolting onto the trailer to add some support. This thing probably weighs 200#.

Now I'm going to have to figure out a battery box....

This outside bolt is the one that stripped. Luckily it's not the motor side and I should be able to just unbolt it, remove the end cap, helicoil it, and put it back without removing the whole thing.
