have a video of engine cranking during the no start? Probably hear the starter the best standing at rf tire.

Unfortunately, cables look great and the batteries are a matched set. Less than a year old.

It is also hazy at idle, I've never had that before.

I hate to say it but you already know. The only time I've had a hazy idle, kind of a grayish color, was a worn IP. Hot start issues as well.

Are you running any fuel other than straight diesel? Additives?

Seems odd to be going through so many pumps.

I just finished reading this from the first post. Really nice truck and some great upgrades. The recurring IP problem is very vexing! I'm curious if you have any updates on the situation. Like you, I really like the stock airbox and want to incorporate it into the intercooler installation. I've looked at pictures of other guys rigs who've used it, it doesn't appear to be very difficult... Come on, you really want to get it functional!

Swapped out the 3 pillar pod for a 4 pod unit. I used a GlowShift water temperature and oil pressure gauge to keep tabs on the new engine.

I opted to retain the factory sender so the dash gauge wouldn't sit pegged on L.

I will streamline the plumbing in the future.

Yes. That is the only way I've ever been successful in starting a heat soaked IP.

That is the part that has me bummed out...it seems like classic heat soak.
I'm dying to know, did it turn out to be the IP? or the starter? I'm having a similar problem and I just started testing the IP, because I never suspected it, being only about 10k miles on a new IP. My starter is old though.

Yes. The IP was faulty but soon after installing it and getting it dialed in the engine gave it up. The rods spun their bearings and the crank ate up the block mains. I replaced it with a Promar unit in another thread. No fault of the Conestoga Diesel IP, just a terrible coincidence.

Thanks. Well, I started thinking about my ip but I'd never suspect it, it's a Conestoga also, but I've been suspecting my starter for awhile. I ordered a Powermaster yesterday, my present starter turns over slower than it used to.
Also need to add some clear line just to check for air intrusion. I never had trouble starting before changing the ip.

I'm glad you sorted yours out. Sorry it was the engine, but now you got something for way into the future.

I must update my previous comments. There was nothing wrong with my IP. Can't believe now I even suspected it. My starter was trashed! when I tested it after removal, it would barely turn over and screeched with worn out bearings. No wonder....
But these Powermaster starters are amazing! It turns over so fast, the engine starts immediately, not even one revolution, and it fires. It's like flipping a light switch.
I see they have heavy duty diesel alternators too. Definitely will buy one when the need comes.
