Not all of them do but probably 80 percent of them do an they are all like 2013 to 15
Way before 13. Lol it got worse when the variable displacement came out.
Regardless, I would try some hot shots secret stiction eliminator. Personally I would change the oil, and put in the one quart bottle with the oil change.

I meant for waystro to run the hss. Lol
That's crazy. What's more crazy is trucks/equipment lasting with the lack of maintenance, especially when you have cream puffs that have had regular maintenance that blow up shortly. Lol

Yes, the retarded thermal actuator on the front diff.
There is a manual conversion.
Last time I bought a stock one (probably 15 years ago) it was like $75 at azone.

Two other common causes of the ticking on the Vortec engines that goes away once warmed up - piston slap and small exhaust leaks at the head. They used fairly small bolts to attach the manifolds and they often break in the head.

Yeah like Jasper said it aounds like the transfer case is shifting as directed but the front axle isn’t getting the message.

If the switch blinks for a few seconds and then shows 2wd again instead of 4Lo then it’s likely the switch. I’ve had a few of those go bad too.
