Couldn't you run the e pump inline after the mechanical? I would think it would feed enough volume that way. Does any body know how the e pump regulates pressure? I don't think you'll have too much pressure this way but check to be sure. I believe you still should be able to draw fuel through the mechanical pump in order to prime filters. You'll still have to run the e pump while running like you do now.
Yes you could do that. I forgot to even consider it since my Facet is now on the frame rail under the cab.

Oh sorry, I though most of you guys with facets put them up high in place of the original filter assembly. With it being up high, I figured it would be super simple to plumb a mechanical pump back in before the e-pump. However, being on the frame rail under your seat, it makes it a little more complicated.

Everyone who has had issues with e-pumps I usually chalked it up to having the pump higher then the tank. IMO no pump is "meant" to pull fuel higher then the level. Granted, some can tolerate it, but they will always run better and flow more when they're not pulling a vacuum at the inlet.

You might check youtube for a video on tuning these engines.
The guy found that retarding the timing about 1 degree from the stock 8.5 (or whatever it is) produced the most dyno hp and torque on a stockish engine.
I tried it and pick up some mpg and seemed to have bit more power and run cooler.
Around that time I also added a air dam under the front bumper (found a stock one in the junkyard), so maybe it was the timing, maybe the air dam.
I used to average around 16mpg, lately it has been 18mpg in a mix of town and highway driving, empty.

Well adding back the 1 deg. Of advance cured the egt. Issues, it did nothing for the fuel light however.
My mpg has never been stellar, best of 15 (1 tank) worst of (8) 1 tank:frustrate.
Averaged 9.1 mpg over 7053 miles from sea level over 6k up 5 into canada to Alaska and back.
Gotta go see idiot....
More to follow later.

I suspect you are right, depending on the case. It really depends on N/A or turbo, and more importantly what the 'dynamic' under-load timing is(which is a combination of fuel pressure, throttle position, transfer pressure in the pump etc). I've noticed that turbo setups like it just a hair less advanced than N/A setups, at least high in the RPM range.
I always get that tuned in, then adjust the light load advance for good off idle performance.

I will say that I'm not dealing with new, stock IPs, but used ones of varying wear.
