Cool to see another 88 on sd axles! You wont notice in a difference in braking until you go to hydro and a larger displacement master cylinder.

You wont regret the charge air cooling! It improves everything. Only downside is the install but after that its cake.
What's the specs on the BWS366?

Going to have to look into it in that case. I'm looking at a BW S366SXE. 80/74. Not sure what A/R to get. If I go too big then boost will come in too late but my EGTs will be low. I also see the option for twin scroll and open scroll. Any advice there? Do I have to take into account pulsing from exhaust?

I'm now also playing around with the idea of using a VGT style turbo and using an Arduino controller to control the veins. I've come across a couple of threads on dodge forums where the 12 valve guys are taking 6.7 VGT turbos and making them work using an Arduino. I assume the coding would somewhat similar for the 7.3IDI just tweak it here and there to match up with my fueling. Still doing research.

One of the links I ran across.

Any recommendations on an aftermarket inter-cooler? I've seen Mishimoto being thrown around. Will one from a PSD work?

Check out some of my build threads for intercooler options, with yours being a bricknose there’s not a lot of room like the obs where a 6.0 or 7.3 intercooler can be made to fit. I would go with a good name brand 31x12x3 intercooler, mishimoto is pretty good

The GTX line is about as good as turbo tech gets, you will be really happy with that turbo. What power range are you aiming for? That turbo is going to perform really well in the 300-400hp range. I see youre in Katy, my shop is north of San Antonio, if you want Id be happy to do all the intercooler piping and mounting for your truck once youre ready to get that done.

Happy to hear I picked out a decent turbo. I'm not really shooting for any specific HP range, I'll be happy if she's on the same level as a stock 7.3 power stroke. My goal is just reliable truck that makes good clean power.

Shouldn’t be an issue with what you’ve had done so far. I think you’ll really like how much more low end grunt the idi has over the psd, the higher compression and rotary style pump really favors low rpm torque.

semi annually update: I ended up dropping my engine off with Wes at Classic Diesel Designs in San Antonio since I finally accepted I just don't have the time to work on my own stuff anymore due to work. Here are some update pictures he has been sending me. I'm pleased with the work he's done so far and have no doubt that this will be a good running engine for the foreseeable future.
