Just bought a 87 f350 with a 6.9 c-6 4x4. This truck has some funky hubs on it. It seems that it has dually axles on it but it has a fleet side bed on it. Also it has some odd looking hub spaces on it. I looked at a true dually and it's a complete different set up.

Also I have no tach reading, battery light stays on and the alt is charging. The high beam indicator stays on when I switch to low beam. Temp guage is inop. Fuel guage dont work either.

Please help

The axle could possibly have been out of a cab & chassis truck. From what I understand, they had a narrower frame. The inop tach could be the pick up on the injector pump gear housing. The inop temp gauge could be the sending unit as well. That is located in the block directly in front of the driver's side head. It's below the back of the A/C compressor, if you have one. As for the high beam indicator, are you sure that you're actually switching to low beam when you hit the dimmer switch? I've seen some that stick and won't switch when you step on it. If it's sticking, the best thing to do is to replace it. A band aid trick is to remove it from the floor, hold it upside down, and squirt some of your favorite penetrating oil underneath the top part. The oil will work it's way inside between the solid and movable part. You can work it with your hands to free it up. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't.

The tach is it a 12v signal back to the tach? Is there a way to ohm it out to see if it is good?
The high beams do switch to low. I watched the headlights switch back and forth. The tach goes goofy when I switch the headlights on. Also when I switch the headlights on the left turn signal dash indicator lights up. Then if I turn my left signal on it flashes as it should. Is there common issues in these instrument clusters?

After looking at these pictures, it looks to me like somebody used the spacers to run single tires mounted on dually rims while using he fleetside bed. Just a wild guess. I don't believe that the tach signal is 12v. It's just a Hall effect pick up. The magnet on the bottom of the pick up senses the teeth of the injector pump gear moving past it and that creates the signal. It's probably fairly low voltage. It also sound to me like you have a grounding issue with your instrument cluster. There seems to be power backfeeding in places at times. This may also explain the tach not working. You can test the tach pick up by swapping in a known good one (if you have access to one).

Yep, I bought a set of those years ago from Arrowcraft. Good quality parts, at least I've never had an issue with them. My front spacers look like the ones in your photo (mounted on the rear).
