I was offered Towkittys truck yesterday.
picked it up this morning.
I feel honored being the new owner.

1988 F350 4x4 SC 7.3 ZF5, GV 4.10LS DRW D60/10.25...the T-ARS "Sulaco"
anyone know the story about its name, Sulaco?

so much awesome I don't know where to start.
so im going to list the things I will be doing to it.

glow plug and controller replacement
serp set up
batteries and cables
factory turbo install
replace interior (thinking SD dash swap this time)
gauge replacement
im sure there will be a lot of things I need to do, this is just the start!

You're a lucky man, Brian. There are so many add-on features to that truck that you can't list them all. That was Calvin's work truck, set up the way he wanted it to do the job he wanted done. I think there are probably features you haven't discovered yet. Calvin put it together to do a job, not to be a show truck.

Congrats on owning Sulaco. Calvin would be happy. I would have considered it, but I don't need a second truck, and I have nowhere to park it.

BTW, care to explain the picture with the "******" sign?

That's awesome, I'm glad his truck went to a good home instead of the scrapper or a teenager. I hope his truck treats you good :)

By the way, for whatever it's worth, when I last talked to Calvin (about 3 weeks before he passed) he was telling me that his truck needed a new engine. Something about it having a ton of blowby and I think oil consumption. He said that was going to be his winter project if he had the time.

Wow, talk about a cool deal!
I’ve seen that truck on this forum multiple times and it’s good to see it go to you Brian.
What are your plans for the rig?

Albeit OBS, not brick, but oah well

honestly I think im going to do a newer dash swap. still on the fence.
but now both windows go up & down,
I need to spend some time and figure this truck out, and update it a little.

fuel tanks and fuel lines are my primary concern, along with glow plugs and a controller.
ill also be doing a compression test when I do this.

I don't want to spend any cash until my SD is done, but ill be going through it after that.
