Going to be hauling around a truck bed camper a lot soon and thought it be a good idea to invest in better suspension.
I'm replacing my old leaf spring hangers and are planning on getting this kit or another like it. Has anyone bought this kit or does anyone have different recommendations?

I guess it depends on your budget, but for something as top heavy as your camper shell, I would look at a complete air ride suspension, eliminate your leafs entirely and install a heavier sway bar. Something like the ambulance and utility truck body builders use. Much higher quality (and a full system warranty) then the Chinese Air-Lift Amazon junk.

You and me both. @Dieselcrawler used a complete air ride setup from a bus on his actually. If you could come across one cheap that would be cool. I think there wss one listed in the marketplace but I'm not sure.

I have thought about running air bags but I don't have anything heavy enough to need them yet. When we finally find a camper I'll be looking more. Can't think of any cons to them.

I was looking at a set of Firestone bags but I don't know if they're any better or not.

My friend has the ones I posted and he hauls Amish sheds. They work fine for him and he pulls serious weight.

I had an issue with one Airlift bag where the threaded fittings on the bottom would detach from the bag when I was unloaded, the bag was only at 10psi, and going over even the smallest of bumps. FWIW the threaded metal fitting that the top and bottom bolts attach to was only a knurled fitting that pressed into the ends of the bag. I finally fixed mine good with a *** of JB weld or some other epoxy--can't remember exactly but it has held for about 3 years now. All in all I'm not impressed with the Airlifts but mine have held some heavy loads without issue. I know it's not good to overload a truck but I do so rarely and always exercise extreme caution when doing so, but with the air bags to help out my aged springs I once grossed 12,200 on the scale at our local dump--7200 empty. I knew i was heavy but had no idea I was so far over. It is amazing what a 3/4 ton pickup can do!

The Reyco-granning set up looks interesting but it is only made to fit the super-duty chassis not the Ford F series. So can it be made to fit. Also, what is the price point on this?

No clue on price point but I can't imagine it would be too hard to make it fit.

I believe rear axles from the 08ish trucks will bolt right up to our trucks and I think maybe the springs are the same length too. There are a couple guys on here that have done it. That would mean spring hangers should be in the same spot so everything should be pretty close.

My truck had a weird airbag system on it when I purchased. Removed it and bought bags very similar to your first post. Here's pics of what was on the truck when I bought it. Someone on here recognized what it is, however that was several years ago and I don't remember.

What's the " suggested" max weight for the bed in a F 250 I forget. 4000?
Dunno about suggested... but my F250 says GVWR 8,800lbs. So minus unloaded weight of roughly 6,400= 2,400lbs legal weight. But of course there are individual axle breakdowns too and you can't legally have one overloaded even if under GVWR. In the event of an accident the insurance companies will hand you both tickets and exit the responsibility. ;)
