Russ would be the man to have it. I mostly deal with the newer idi turbos, Russ could a factory turbo chra be made to work in an 085?

John a cartridge is a term for the center section of a turbo, and an 085 is the original ats turbo kit for these engines

I don't have one, but just curious. What is a 085 cartridge?

the cartridge is a turbo assembly without the snail housings. Compressor wheel, turbine wheel/shaft, center section with bearings and seals. ATS had several different turbo setups for the IDI and the 085 is one of them. (Not sure if that's the factory turbo setup or not).

Edit: looks like Wes just beat me to it :)

I likely can build or get you one

Hopefully I will get a chance to tear into it this week, might just be a restricted oil return (its just rubber hose from the turbo straight down to the valley grommet) but it is getting lots of oil out the exhaust. oil has leaked out Where the cartridge fits into the turbine housing, and where the downpipe fits into the turbine housing, so it should come apart pretty easy.

So the drain was blocked. Rubber hose that I thought would live with oil didn't, hose is really soft and kinked at bottom.

Sure made a mess, every exhaust connection from the turbo back, has oil dripping out. Some places sprayed out and oil coated the floor. Should probably drain the intercooler too.

I wonder how long this has been affecting oil consumption? The last few years I was using it (always with trailer) taking it easy would burn a quart every 1-200 miles, running it hard same trip would use NO oil. The last trip I took it on was loaded pretty heavy, and noticed as soon as it started making power, blue smoke would start rolling and wouldn't clear up.....that's when I noticed oil leaking from where my exhaust brake connects to the downpipe. Parked it for a couple years, just now getting it rolling again.
