Here she is, fellows and gentle-ladies.
2005 3500 Laramie 4x4
I gotta day, I love the common rail system. I don't think I could ever move backwards to another idi or even heui (7.3/6.0) power just isn't there.
She rides like a beut.
I'll get some daylight photos.
237k, iirc.
I saw the bed, and once I drove it, I fell in love. Many may not know, but I drive a 3500 srw 5.9 6 speed for work for quite some time (maybe 5 years) and just got used to it so to speak.
I've talked a lot of pooey on dodge/Cummins for awhile, but it really boils down to jealousy. Lol things really hold their value. Lol

I love it! I also love that Ram still makes manual transmissions for their 2500/3500 series trucks but can’t get over the rusting issues they’ve had up in the northeast. It really looks great!

I don’t hate the cummins, just the truck they wrap around them. Seems like the trucks fall apart long before the power plant. My brothers 6.7 is a beast but he’s had nothing but issues with the rest of the truck. Some issues with the egr system too but for a truck with around50k miles, he’s had to do a lot of work to it for no more than it’s been abused.

I spent a lot of time in one when I was doing construction.
Have a couple 6.7's at the county I get to play with as well. The stock exhaust brake on those are crazy.
It seems the 07.5-13 pre def systems had more trouble. But it's a quick easy delete, unlike the 6.6 dmx or 6.7 psd. I hear the aisin in the 3500 are pretty stout.

Sold it. Lol this stock exhaust has got to go.
Actually no more past 2019
Most probably wouldn't want to daily a clutch that will hold over 1,000 FT-LB torque. Lol and probably doesn't play well with the torque management.

Seems like you cant keep front ends under them.

Very Similar setup to the fords. From what I recall, they run a different caster, which puts more wear on the balljoints. Imo, unit bearings suck. I wish I could do the free spin kit. But for now....
Also, does outweigh the idi by a bit.

My brother has put ball joints in his at least twice. It’s got less than 60k miles on it. 07 I believe. First year for the 6.7. He put XRF’s in it this time.

I replaced countless unit bearings on our 6.0 on the side of the road, brand didn’t seem to make a huge difference in lifetime but I got pretty quick at replacing them. I don’t really care for dodges other than the engine that’s in them, but every brand/truck has its issues. If there was one that was much worse than the rest they just wouldn’t sell. Is it a stick?

All unit bearing/hub seem junk. Lol while they aren't made to be grease able, you can actually somewhat grease them. Would likely see longer life.
Auto. Tightening the front band made a world of difference in feel.
I wish this one still had the TV cable, could get a little more adjustability. But there's a guy doing pretty good things with the tuning on the 48's.

Pdd recently did a good video on pan off upgrades for the 48, would be worth looking into if you plan on keeping the truck for awhile. Yeah unit bearings suck.
